Hello guys as we knew this COVID-19 pandemic situation affecting everyone especially the farmers were in bad situation where they were unable to market their products either directly going   to the markets or through transportation of their products.

Current Agriculture market situation:  

•          We are simply sitting in home and eating the food but literally speaking there were problems in agriculture produces reaching from farm to mandi to consumer.
•          The farmers facing transportation problems even though government allowed transportation of produce in the country but still some transporters /drivers facing the risk and hesitate to go to other states or big cities market.
•          If farmers want to go to market personally to sell their products in big markets there were restriction on market timing and risk of infection.

KIASN RATH APP:

It is a mobile app developed by NIC in cooperation with ministry of Agriculture and farmers welfare and launched by the Union Agriculture minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar on 17^th April. The aim is to facilitate the easy transportation of agriculture produces from farmer to the markets. The farmers, FPOs, Buyer/traders can easily sign in to this app and make their business easily. Initially this app is available in 8 languages.

How this App works:

For better understanding we can divide the things for farmers/Producers/FPO, Transport aggregators/ agents and the Buyers/traders.

1. For Producers/ Farmers/ FPO: The farmers or producers   have to follow these steps:

•   The farmers or producers have to first register in to the app and then sign in.
•   Choose the details like language, your role like as farmers /FPO etc.
•   Then Upload the details of your produce like type of vegetables, time of harvesting and when you want to load the producer.
•  You also have to upload the details like quantity of your produce, perishable or not, type of vehicle like refrigerated one or normal vehicles and other details which were in this app.

2. For transport aggregators / agent:

• The aggregators and Drivers have to register in this app and then Sign in to it
•  The transport aggregators /agents who are in market will see the data uploaded by the farmers/FPOs and the buyers/ traders and communicate with vehicle providers and drivers.
•   The agent will provide details of farmers /FPOs to the drivers.
•   Then drivers will directly contact with farmers and to the buyers/traders and fix the charges and other requirements.
• Then drivers will pick up the produce and deliver it to the traders/ buyers

3.  For Traders/ Buyers:

•   Traders or buyers first have to register under this app and have to sign in.
•   Then the buyers/traders have to upload their requirements for the produce and other details like the quantity and type of materials like perishable one or not.
• The traders will also put their price quotation against requirements.
•   The vehicle drivers will contact directly once they get produce from farmers /producers and deliver it to the buyers or traders. 

In this way it’s a chained process connecting the farmers to the buyers/trades. Once the users become familiar with this app it’s easy for operating.

Benefits of App:

•   In this COVID-19 situation everyone want to be safe and also want do their business, So through the app business become easy.
•   As the produce details and requirement details were already uploaded by the farmers and traders, the farmer will get best price for their produce at the same time buyers will also get good produce at best price.
•  As transportation will be easily available through this app no problem for vehicles and transportation.
•   Over all this app helping the farmers to sell their produce through one tap and buyers were also getting the produce.
•   The farmers and buyers can track the position of the vehicles ,So there is timely delivery of the produce and by this we can reduce the wastage of produces.

So it’s a good initiative by the government to helping the farmers and traders in this amid situation. Overall this app helps in linkages between farmers, warehouse, FPOs , APMC mandis,Inter -state and Intra-state buyers.
